La mirabile arte di Luciano Regoli, Maestro della Scuola dell’isola d’Elba, non è che la prova esemplare di quanto l’obbedienza ai valori della grande pittura non sia altro se non, in verità, un atto di radicale disobbedienza nel mondo dell’arte contemporanea. Il senso di tale giudizio potrebbe apparire con tanta maggiore chiarezza, se solo venissero riconsiderate le seguenti parole di Pier Paolo Pasolini, il quale ragionando intorno ad una certa inversione semantica di termini convenzionali, così concludeva le sue riflessioni: “...in quanto consenziente all’ideologia distruttrice del nuovo modo di produzione, chi si crede disobbediente (e come tale si esibisce) è in realtà obbediente; mentre chi dissente dalla suddetta ideologia distruttrice – e, in quanto crede nei valori che il nuovo capitalismo vuole distruggere, è obbediente – è dunque in realtà disobbediente”.

The admirable art of Luciano Regoli, Master of the School of Elba, is nothing but the exemplary proof of how obedience to the values of great painting is nothing but, in truth, an act of radical disobedience in the world of contemporary art. The sense of this judgment could appear with much greater clarity, if only the following words of Pier Paolo Pasolini were reconsidered, which reasoning around a certain semantic inversion of conventional terms, thus concluded his reflections: "...as consenting to the destructive ideology of the new mode of production, those who believe disobedient (and as such performs) are actually obedient; while those who disagree with the mentioned destructive ideology – and, as they believe in the values that the new capitalism wants to destroy, are obedient – are therefore in fact disobedient ".
